What approach does Dr. Floyd use in Group Therapy?
Dr. Floyd's aim is to help you establish a nourishing relationship with food and eating. Groups will work from the principles of Intuitive Eating, compassion and gratitude. A variety of treatment modalities will be used in combination to expand skills and strategies.
Groups are limited to 5 participants to enhance participation and opportunities for progress.
A sample of approaches include:

Group Polices:
You must be approved for outpatient care by your individual therapist, psychiatrist, or primary care physician.
An initial evaluation appointment will be conducted for all approved group members ($100.00).
An 6-week commitment is recommended to maximize benefits.
Confidentiality for fellow group members is expected.
Insurance is not accepted. Please see the Cost and Insurance Tab for related details.
Are therapy groups covered by insurance?
Dr. Floyd does not participate with insurance. Fees are due at the time of service. Upon your request, you will be provided with a Superbill form to submit to your insurance provider. For full details, please see the Fees and Insurance Tab.

$100 per 60-minute group
How do I know if group therapy is right for me?
Dr. Floyd will provide a FREE 15 - minute phone screening to ensure group is appropriate.
For those under 18, Dr. Floyd will speak briefly with a parent and the minor.
Will Dr. Floyd Communicate with my Individual Therapist, Psychiatrist, or Dietitian?
Absolutely! Simply sign the Authorization form when you register for the group!
