Family Therapy for Eating Disorder Recovery

Parents, partners, and extended family members are vital to the recovery process. The recovery journey can be scary and confusing. This can lead to strained relationships, prolonged recovery, and overwhelmed family systems. Family therapy is often recommended as an adjunct to individual therapy, or during step-down from a higher level of care. The aim of family therapy is to foster clarity and effectiveness of treatment, improve communication, heal fatigued relationships, and motivate ongoing recovery efforts. Dr. Floyd's approach is active, supportive, validating, compassionate, educational, solution-focused, and fun!

Family Therapy is not a space for blame, but rather an environment to learn skills and strategies to move recovery in a positive direction.
